Why Dockweiler?
Dockweiler Beach is ideally suited to become the first off-leash Dog Beach in Los Angeles. It is one of the County’s least-visited beaches because of its proximity to LAX and the Hyperion Power Plant. In addition to providing recreational opportunities for people and their dogs, a Dog Beach would benefit Los Angeles as well. A Dog Beach would significantly increase attendance, which would in turn increase badly needed revenues for Los Angeles in the form of parking fees, concession stand revenues, and increased business at local shops and restaurants.
